Japanese friendship garden, Balboa park wedding
After listening to Meg’s wedding speech about the history of LGBT struggles, I realized that this wedding wasn’t just about two people’s union. It’s a lot deeper than that. It’s also about two people clenching their fist as they declare to the world how true their love is. It’s about fighting for what love should stand for, not just for the two of them, but for everyone. It was a festivity celebrating the start of a moral revolution that’s reshaping our future. Meg and Abby, among many others, is why we have a future we can look forward to; a future that knows how to accept, love without inhibitions, uphold equality, and embrace differences.
Even history tells us that its because of people like Meg and Abby why we have a bright future ahead of us, those who defy, whose hearts are burning with love, and those who constantly remind us how love should be – brave, bold, and always beautiful.
Cheers to these powerful duo, you have no idea how much I look up to you guys.
