Ashlei and Phillip Tie The Knot By The Sea

Ashlei + Phillip

Everyone who knows and loves Ashlei and Phillip knew they were meant for each other. So when they finally decided to get married, it had to be a day they would never forget.

The Big Day

Providing expansive views of the vast Pacific Ocean, the Scripps Seaside Forum is one of San Diego’s most remarkable spots to enjoy the glittering California Coastline. This location is where Ashlei and Phillip decided to hold their outdoor wedding ceremony, promising a picturesque afternoon of love and celebration by the palms and crisp ocean breeze.
The Estancia Hotel at La Jolla was where the bride, groom, and their entourage prepped for the day ahead.
Ashlei herself was a vision in a statement wedding dress made by Winnie Couture. The bridal gown features a sleeveless v-neck bodice with delicate crystal embroidery done in a mermaid cut with a long train at the back. To complement the curvy silhouette of Ashlei’s gown, she wore dangling diamond earrings that barely grazed her shoulders and added a touch of sparkle as she moved. Breaking tradition, Ashlei decided to forgo a wedding veil and opted for a sleek high ponytail for her long black hair. Ashlei’s and her mother’s makeup were done by Levi Viera.
Her bridal bouquet featured cascading orchids and white florals, while the bridal entourage’s bouquets were a bunch of baby pink roses and more orchids for the maid-of-honor by For Ella After. The bridal entourage was decked out in cheerful rose pink dresses and three-piece suit — perfect for the California summer weather. Meanwhile, Ashlei’s mother looked radiant in a champagne pink dress with ¾ sleeves and ornate floral embroidery printed across the dress.

Phillip looked dapper in a monochromatic black and white tuxedo with a bow tie and a simple white floral boutonniere. His groomsmen wore traditional black tuxedoes with fun red bow ties to add a touch of color to their looks.

The couple got married in front of the Pacific Ocean with an arch made of monsteras and pastel pink blooms, officiated by Minister Christopher Rogers. There was not a dry eye in the audience as Phillip and Ashlei exchanged their wedding vows.

The Reception

As the day went on, the couple decided to hold a casual afternoon reception at Scripps Seaside Forum’s indoor reception venue. While beautiful in the daytime, the venue transforms into a whole new place by night. Ashlei and Phillip’s wedding dinner was catered by Abbey Catering, while afternoon cocktails and evening bar were handled by Giuseppe Beverage Services. The wedding cake was a minimalist fondant cake with fresh flowers by Twiggs Bakery and Cafe. At the end of the night, the party began with festive music provided by DJ Big Willie of SGM Events. Rentals were courtesy of Bright Rentals, and videography by SD Photo Studio. The wedding was coordinated by Evelyn Stockhausen of Abbey Catering, and photographed by Sweet Paper Media
